Atibie (E/R), Dec. 16, GNA – Nine deliveries took place at the Holy Family and the Kwahu Government Hospitals on Christmas day at Nkawkaw and Atibie in the Kwahu South and West District respectively. They were made up of six males and three females. Holy Family hospital recorded five deliveries, four males and a female, while the Kwahu Government hospital recorded four deliveries, two males and two females. One of them, who was delivered through caesarean section pre-matured at the Kwahu Government Hospital died while the other eight babies are doing well.
Speaking to Ghana News Agency in an interview, the Principal Midwife Superintendent In-charge of the Labour Ward at the Kwahu Government Hospital, Mrs. Elizabeth Oware-Antwi advised pregnant women to register for the National Health Insurance Scheme to ensure affordable health delivery system. She said, most women who delivered at the hospital have not registered with Okwahuman Health Insurance Scheme and therefore, find it difficult to settle their bills after delivery.
