Nigerian trader remanded in police custody for sodomy

Accra, Oct. 12, GNA – An Accra Circuit Court presided over by Mr. S.K. Asiedu, on Tuesday remanded Victor Obavee Emeka, 23, a Nigerian trader at Darkuman, a suburb of Accra, in police custody for sodomy. The plea of the accused was not taken and remanded in police custody to re-appear on October 25.

Police Sergeant Lawrence Gbele, told the court that on September 27, this year, mother of the two-year-old boy left him under the care of one Faustina Arko who lived in the same house with the accused. Police Sergeant Gbele said the accused lured the victim to a public bathhouse and sodomised him, the boy later complained about pains in his anus to the mother.

The prosecutor said the matter was reported to the police and the victim was examined at the Police Hospital, after investigations the accused was charged with the offence.
