Nigerian Ambassador swears-in newly elected executives in Ghana

Nigeria High Commissioner to Ghana, Ambassador Ademola Oluseyi Onafowokan on Tuesday, sworn in the newly elected executive members of All Nigeria Community, Ghana.

All Nigeria Community (ANC), Ghana is the umbrella body of Nigerians resident in Ghana, recognized by the Ghana government and the Nigeria High Commission in Ghana.

The event which took place at the Nigeria Embassy in Accra was described as the first of its kind in the history of the over 5o years old existence of the association in Ghana.

According to Ambassador Onafowokan “This is the first time an election was conducted, with the help of Ghana Electoral Commission, and under the watch of the Embassy. And each of them who won various executive positions were given a certificate, as a evidence.”

The High Commissioner also donated $10,000 to the All Nigeria Community; a gesture which he promised to be done yearly to support the body, in order to cater for the Nigerians in desperate needs of their support, and for the payment of their dues at the newly furnished secretariat.

Ambassador Onafowokan, at the event, also dissolved the Board of Trustee of the association with immediate effect. He gave direction on a new procedure through which a member of the Board of Trustee of the community will be chosen. Speaking with the newly elected President of the All Nigeria Community, Ghana,

Mr. Moses Owharo who expressed his joy over the transparent process through which the election was conducted, also reiterated his commitment to keeping Nigerians in Ghana united; to ensure that Nigerians image is well protected and further help in fostering the relationship between Nigeria and Ghana.
