Nigeria Proud of Ghana – High Commissioner

Kumasi, March 13, GNA – Nigeria High Commissioner to Ghana, Dr Olutungi Kolapo has said Nigeria was very proud to be among the friends and supporters of Ghana. He said this against the background that Nigeria’s ties with Ghana had given Nigeria a deeper appreciation of the selfless work the government was doing to build a new life for the people of Ghana.

Dr Kolapo said this when he called on the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Chief Executive, Ms Patricia Appiagyei at her office in Kumasi on Saturday, during a day’s to the Metropolis at the invitation of the Nigerian Community in Kumasi and Dr Mark Oludare, global co-ordinator of International Students Management Consultancy (ISMC). It was aimed at interacting with Nigeria nationals in Kumasi including those pursuing various degree courses at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He said some Nigerian youths had decided to be a beneficiary of Ghana’s adopted type of education, which he noted had equipped students to play useful roles the country’s reconstruction effort.

Ms Appiagyei observed that Nigerian nationals in Kumasi had proven to be law abiding and had, therefore, co-existed peacefully with their Ghanaian counterparts and prayed for its sustenance. She appealed to them to join the people in the Kumasi Metropolis in the effort to keep the city clean to befit its Garden City status. Dr Kolapo later at a meeting with Nigeria community in Kumasi urged the people to live above approach and assist in the development of Ghana. The High Commissioner in an address read on his behalf told the 578 Nigerian students at KNUST to distinguish themselves in their studies to merit the investment their parents had made in their education
