NIA begins roll out of Ghana Cards to children aged 6-14

By: Akua Oteng Amponsah

The National Identification Authority (NIA) is starting to issue Ghana Cards to children aged 6 to 14 who have already registered.

This initiative begins today, Monday 6th October, 2025 and will initially take place in 56 districts nationwide.

The cards will be distributed at the same schools where the registration occurred.

To collect the cards, each child must be physically present and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who will need to present the registration receipt (Form A) issued on the day of registration.

The NIA has assured the public that all backlogs of unprinted Ghana Cards have been cleared and will cover the remaining districts soon. It further assured that announcements will be made regarding new registration dates for children within this age bracket.

However, The NIA has appealed to all parents and guardians to cooperate fully to ensure a smooth and efficient card issuance exercise across the country.
