NHIS registration picks up

Twifo Praso (C/R), March 19, GNA – Twifo-Hemang-Lower-Denkyira District Health Insurance Scheme has so far registered 8,000 people from

the informal sector and collected 70 million cedis. Mr. Emmanuel Badu, the District Scheme Manager disclosed this at a forum organised by the Scheme for 200 civil servants at Praso on Tuesday.

The forum was organised to educate workers on the Scheme so that they can “spread the message” in their various communities. Mr. Badu said under the Scheme prescription of drugs to members will be catered for by accredited pharmaceutical shops or chemical sellers.

He therefore, appealed to those who have not as yet registered to do so to enable them to get quality health care when the Scheme is implemented by the end of April this year.
