NGO to use drama in propagating messages on HIV/AIDS

Nankesedo (C/R), Feb. 6, GNA – FED Kastle Promotions an HIV/AIDS campaign NGO in the Mfantseman District has trained 10 drama troupes to use in the propagation of messages on HIV/AIDS.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Nankesedo, Francis Ejaaku Donkoh, Executive Director of the NGO advised Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) and Non-Government Organisation (NGOs) fighting to curb the spread of the disease to adopt participatory methods in delivering their messages.

“Drama and role plays are very effective methods”, he said. According to Mr Donkoh the troupes had dramatised the need to treat people living with the disease with compassion and not as outcasts. He said through drama the NGO had made the people realise the harm in stigmatising people living with the disease.

Mr Donkoh mentioned Abonko, Kormantse, Biriwa, Anomabo, Eshiro, Saltpond, Ankaful, Kuntu, Ewoyaa and Nankesedo as the communities in which his organisation was working. 06 Feb. 05
