NGO to train over 400 people in the Volta Region

Hohoe, June 17, GNA – Heifer Project International, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), will train over 400 people in the Hohoe, Jasikan and Kadjebi districts of the Volta Region in bee-keeping, poultry, grass-cutter rearing and agro-forestry.

The training that would be organised under the government’s poverty alleviation strategy to help to facilitate sustainable environmental protection would cost 900-million cedis.

Mr Roland Kalinsi, Programme Officer of the NGO, who made this known at a training for 40 farmers in Hohoe on Wednesday. He said beneficiaries would be given the necessary resources to go into production and they would intend supply animals to other interested people under the “passing the gift concept” plan, to increase the number of beneficiaries.
