NGO to hold workshop on gender issues

Ho, Feb 16, GNA – A four-day workshop on Gender Mainstreaming into Development Planning for district assemblies, decentralised departments and institutions, agencies and other interested organisations is to be held in Ho from 14 to 18 March.

The workshop, under the theme “Gender and Development, a Living Reality,” is being organised by Agency for Sustainable Development (ASD) a Ho based NGO in collaboration with Swedish Fellowship of Reconciliation (IFOR).

A statement signed by Mr Fred Agbogbo, Manager of ASD, said the workshop seeks to facilitate dialogue and consultation on gender equity issues with other partners.

It said after the workshop it was expected that participants would advocate for the repeal of oppressive traditional laws and practices that militate against gender and development. They will also promote reform of oppressive systems and structures that work against the advancement of women, men, boys and girls.
