Agona Swedru (C/R), Sept. 18, GNA – Young and Lonely Foundation (YLF), a non-governmental organisation, has organised a week-long HIV and AIDS awareness campaign at Agona Swedru in the Central Region.

The programme, which covered Aboso, Nkubemu, Mangoase and Swedru Central attracted chiefs, farmers, artisans and youth groups.

They were taken through the mode of transmission, the negative impact of HIV and AIDS on agriculture, and the proper use of contraceptives through demonstrations.

Mr Gilbert Kofi German, Executive Director of YLF, who led the seven resource persons of the programme, urged the participants to impart what they have learnt in their communities to make the campaign against the virus a success.

He appealed to religious leaders to teach couples the essence of being faithful to their partners and abstinence from casual sex to help fight the health menace.
