NGO presents food items to Moslems towards Ramadan

The Ghana branch of the Caravan of Mercy (CM), a United Kingdom-based non-governmental organisation (NGO) on Monday presented food items to Moslems in Afieya to assist them in their ongoing Ramadan fasting.

The items include rice, sugar, cooking oil and tin tomatoes.

Sheik Mahama Ibrahim, Overseas Coordinator of the NGO, who presented the gift said, CM was bent on serving the needy in society and would soon make similar donation to the Moslems communities in Ashaiman and Adjei Kojo.

Sheik Ibrahim said CM intends making other donations in the form of clothes to some selected communities in the country and that the value of the whole consignment stands at 10,000 pounds.

Mr. Habibu Mohammed, Assemblyman for Afieya expressed the appreciation of the Moslem community to the NGO and hoped other charitable and public spirited organisations would make similar donations to help Moslems go through a peaceful and a successful Ramadan. **
