NGO Presents Canvas Shoes To Nursery School

Accra, (Greater Accra) 26 Oct.,

The Resident Director of the Ghana Chapter of the African Poverty Eradication Commission (APEC), Major Adolf N. Clark (rtd) has called on NGOs to contribute positively towards the development of the country. He was speaking when he presented 100 pairs of canvas shoes worth more than 100,000 cedis, on behalf of his organisation, to the pupils of St. Joseph’s Nursery and Creche at Shiabu near Dansoman. The school which is sited in one of the most deprived areas in the metropolis, was selected in line with the organisation’s aim to help the vulnerable in society. Maj. Clark commended the founders of the school for their sacrifices and determination and prayed for God’s guidance for the pupils to enable them to grow up into responsible adults. Mrs. Beatrice Ayanful, headmistress of the school who received the shoes thanked the donors for the gesture. Mr. Joseph N. Nortey, the proprietor said efforts are being made to house the school with 50 pupils, in a permanent structure.
