NGO organises skill training for Akim Manso community

The Community Vocational Training Africa, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has organised three days training in soap making, hair and body pomade and fruit juice preparation for some members of the Akim Manso community.

Nana Michael Duodu, Founder of the NGO, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency said the vision of the organisation is to help people to enhance their training in some specialised skills.

He said some financial support would be sought by the NGO from the Business Advisory Centre of the Birim Central Municipal Assembly for trainees to improve and expand their businesses.

Madam Gifty Amo, Trainer of the programme advised the trainees to start their businesses steadily with the little amount of money they have and aim at improving the quality of their products.

She said this would lead to the growth of their trades rather than attempting to borrow to start their businesses, which would go with heavy interest rates and eventually collapse their initiatives.

The participants expressed gratitude to the NGO for the training. They were given certificates.
