NGO lunches campaign on HIV/AIDS

Gomoa-Kyiren (C/R), Oct. 29, GNA – Green Care and Girl Child Foundation (GCGCF), an NGO, has lunched an intensive campaign on HIV/AIDS and also to sensitize people in various towns and villages in the Central Region on the seriousness of the disease.

The first phase of the two-phased programme, which commenced two days ago, will cover six out of the twelve districts in the region including, the Agona, Awutu-Effutu-Senya, Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam, Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa and Mfantsiman.

During the exercise, the campaign team, led by the Country Director of Foundation Mr Albert Crentsil said, they would among others screen films on the disease to the people for them see its devastation nature. Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Gomoa-Kyiren on Thursday, Mr Crentsil advised the youth to be extra careful in their sexual practices to avoid contracting the pandemic. He said that is the only way “we can collectively sustain and develop further the manpower resources needed for the development and progress of the nation”.
