Forces Help Ghana, a non-governmental organization (NGO), through the help of two German Hospitals, has donated 18 hospital beds and 23 mattresses to the Veterans Administration Ghana (VAG) Clinic in Amasaman to assist in health care delivery.
Mr Derrick Cobbinah, Co-Founder of the NGO, said the donation was to support in the healthcare of ex-military personnel who had contributed to the development of the nation.
He said the organization had set up British and the German charity associations to support the health and social needs of Ghanaian veterans, explaining that, they were part of the country’s shared history and so the gesture would be one of many consignments to come.
Mr Cobbinah appealed to the authorities to make good use of the items and appealed to corporate bodies to help support the needs of the ex-military personnel and to adopt and renovate the Amasaman Legion village, which is among the 10 Legion villages in the country.
A Retired officer, Colonel Oscar Chris Afefa Nutakor, the Executive Director of VAG, thanked the organization for the gesture and pledged their resolute support to make good use of the facilities.
He said the Administration was working assiduously to upgrade the clinic into a polyclinic to serve the health needs of the community.
Forces Help Ghana was launched in April 2014.
