NGO donates to 20 PLWAS

Breman Asikuma (C/R), Jan. 6, GNA – Partnership for Community Transformation, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) in collaboration with Our Lady of Grace Hospital at Breman Asikuma, have donated food items worth over two million cedis to 20 People Living With HIV/AIDS (PLWAS).

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Elvis Adea, Executive Director of the NGO and Reverend Daniel Neyoh the Chaplain of the Hospital said the gesture formed part of the humanitarian support the two organisations extended to the needy and the PLWAS annually. They asked the public not to stigmatise the PLWAS but should rather provide them with the support they need in order to prolong their life span.

“The PLWAS should be listened to, ask about their feelings and emotional well-being all the time.”

They said people should also learn how to respect their privacy and keep their HIV/AIDS status confidential.
