NGO assists schools, departments in Cape Coast

Cape Coast, June 21, GNA- The African Footprint International, a Denmark-based non-governmental organisation (NGO), on Monday, presented learning material and office equipment valued to schools and government departments in the Cape Coast municipality.

The items, which include, 20 computers, six printers, a scanner, an electronic hospital bed, four bales of bed sheets and furniture, were jointly presented by Mr Muniru Arafat Nuhu, Municipal Chief Executive and Ms Veronica Fry-Annan, Municipal Director of Education at Cape Coast on behalf of the NGO.

The beneficiary schools and organizations included the Cape Coast School for the Deaf, Christ the King Academy, University of Cape Coast, Aboom A.M.E Zion Primary Schools, the Department of Social Welfare, Regional Directorate of Education and the Ewim Health Centre.

Mr Nuhu commended the NGO for contributing to the improvement of educational institutions and government departments in the municipality. He expressed the hope that the materials and equipment would be put to good use and asked the beneficiaries to regularly maintain them so that they could last longer.

Mr Samuel Essel Addison, Director of the Cape Coast branch of the NGO, said apart from supporting schools and government organisations to function effectively, the NGO was committed to assisting physically challenged persons.
