NGM commends PNC for choice of running mate

Accra, Oct. 20, GNA – The New Ghanaian Movement (NGM), a political think tank, on Monday commended the People’s National Convention (PNC) for selecting a female running mate. A statement signed by Kofi Kankam, Chairman of the Ashanti Regional Branch of NGM, said the PNC was very prudent in nominating Ms Petra Maria Amegashie, adding that the Party had proved that it was committed to the empowerment of women.

“The PNC has proved beyond reasonable doubt that it is the only party that is gender sensitive and above all recognises the immense role that Ghanaian women can play in the socio-political landscape”. It urged all political parties to consider the issue of empowerment of women by nominating them into leadership positions. The statement appealed to the electorate to vote for Dr. Edward Mahama, presidential candidate of the PNC on December Seven to enable him to implement the Party’s manifesto. 20 Oct. 08
