NFED presents solar lamps and radios to communities

Ahyiresu (Ash), Dec 11, GNA – The Non-Formal Education Division of the Ministry of Education in the Atwima District on Thursday presented solar lamps, solar radios and their chargers to four communities in the District.

The communities were Ahyiresu, Bedabour, AntwiAdjeikrom and Adagya. Presenting the items, Mr Joseph Adu-Gyamfi, Atwima District Co-ordinator of the NFED, said seven other communities would also soon benefit from the items.

He named the communities as Kotokuom, Gyankobaa, Ahodwo, Kapro, Pakyi-Nkruma, Krachikrom and Kyereyaaso.

Mr Adu-Gyamfi told the people that the non-formal education was not meant for only adults but for school dropouts as well and therefore asked pupils who had dropped out of school to take advantage of the non-formal education to get at least basic education. He cautioned the facilitators of the NFED to take very good care of the items to ensure that they lasted.
