NFED Facilitators Receive Incentives

Kpando, May 18, GNA- Eighty-one facilitators of the Non-Formal Education Division (NFED) in the Kpando District, on Tuesday received packages totalling about 80 million cedis as incentives after undertaking teaching programmes for 21 months. The packages are made up of 39 ghetto blasters, 27 sewing machines and 15 mountain bikes.

Mr Pius Adanuti, Kpando District Chief Executive, who presented the items, commended the recipients for availing themselves for the task, in the face of declining communal spirit of volunteerism. He challenged them to continue to affect society positively and be stewards of propagating government policies as well as ensuring that adult learners become functionally active.

Miss Dziedzom Agudetse, Kpando District Coordinator of NFED, said the exercise was aimed at empowering adult learners to narrow the illiteracy gap, who by no fault of theirs could not enjoy formal educational. She praised the facilitators for their sense of duty and congratulated government for providing the incentives as well as its programme to reduce poverty and illiteracy in the country. Mr Arnold Kwashie, leader of the Facilitators thanked government for the gesture and pledged that until their collective objectives were achieved, they would not rest on their oars.
