Ho, May 29, GNA – Mr Andrews Kwesi Gyabaah, Commissioner of Police, Technical and General Services on Friday reminded new entrants into the Police Service to let the motto, “service with integrity” reflect in their conducts and approach to work.
He was reviewing the passing-out parade of 49 fresh service men at the Police Training School at Ho where they underwent six months training. Mr Gyabaah asked them to be mindful of the dictates of the 1992 Constitution and the challenges posed to their mission of maintaining law and order without infringing the rights of the people.
He reminded them of criticisms and challenges they would be confronted with during the course of their work and the need to be calm, level headed, focused, fair and flexible so as to win public support and co-operation.
Mr Gyabaah cautioned them to exercise good judgement in their dealings with political parties.
He said as armed robbery and other serious crimes had emerged in the society, so high were expectations of the people of the police to deal effectively with the situation and secure their safety.
Nevertheless they should control their youthful energies and channel them constructively in the exercise of their duties. Among the subjects studied were criminal law, criminal procedure, criminal investigation, law of evidence, practical policing duties and social psychology. 29 May 04
