Walewale, (Nortern Region), 17 Oct. ’98 The West Mamprusi District assembly has confirmed the nomination of Mr Karimu Nachina, 52 as the new district chief executive. Mr Nachina, an educationist replaces Mr Emmanuel Gunah, who was relieved of the post by President J.J Rawlings. He polled 48 out of the 49 votes cast at an election supervised by the Electoral Commission.
It was witnessed by Alhaji Seidu Iddi, Northern Regional Minister and Dr Kwadwo Afari-Djan, Chairman of the Electoral Commission. In a brief remark after his election, the new district chief executive thanked the assembly members for the confidence reposed in him. GRi
