New Tafo Market to be rehabilitated

Kumasi, March 16, GNA – The government is to rehabilitate the New Tafo Market in Kumasi at the cost of GH¢15million, Mr. Tony Yeboah Asare, the consultant in-charge of the rehabilitation project, said at a stakeholders’ meeting in Kumasi on Monday. The project, which is to be executed in phases, involves the construction of 2,300 stores, a clinic, a parking lot and police and fire stations.

He said the project would take-off soon and that the first phase was expected to be completed in eight months time. Mr. Opoku Manu, the Ashanti Regional Minister, appealed to the various stakeholders to put behind them partisan politics and unite for the development of the metropolis.
