New police post underway at Kpano Torkor

Residents of Kpando Torkor in the Kpando municipality in the Volta region will soon see improvement in their security issues following some pragmatic initiative by the assembly.

One of such measures is the construction of a new police post in the Kpando Torkor community which is currently under construction by the assembly to bring the services of the police closer to the residents.

The MCE Paulina Delali Adinyirah in an interview with ghanadistricts.com, expressed worry at the increasing crime rate in the area which she attributed to the proximity of KpandoTorkor to Afram Plains in the eastern region.

She said the best way to curb crime is to ensure police presence in the area. This has been lacking all this years because the police has no police post.

The MCE said the safety of the people remains a priority to the assembly as such the assembly will not hesitate in making the necessary investment in security to keep and maintain the peaceful atmosphere existing in the municipality which is important for economic activities to thrive.

She said the assembly will also endeavour to liaise with the necessary authority to give the police service the needed support to function effectively.
