New mosque for Ampabame

New Ampabame (Ash), Oct 8, GNA – Nana Aboagye Agyei II, Ejisuhene and Mr Yaw Ahenkora Afrifa, the Ejisu-Juaben District Chief Executive, jointly inaugurated a 200 million-cedi mosque at New Ampabame. The mosque, which have a well, toilet and urinary attached to it, was initiated by Sheikh Saood Ubaid Al-Zaidi, a Saudi Arabian philanthropist and initiated by sheikh Ahmed Saeed Nkrumah, a Ghanaian Islamic scholar.

Mr Afrifa expressed regret that because some Muslims were violating the principles of Islam, some people wrongly perceived the religion as violent.

He said Islam is a peaceful religion and appealed to committed Muslims to expose the bad ones among them.

Nana Aboagye Agyei entreated Muslims to use the new mosque to ensure peace unite and mobilize the people for development. Sheikh Nkrumah promised that he would mobilize resources for the construction of a school and clinic.

Sheikh Harun A. Appau, Headmaster of the Kumasi Islamic Secondary School, commended the initiator and the financier of the project for contributing to the spread of Islam.

He noted that education was the foundation for development and urged individuals and organisation to invest in that sector.
