New headmaster of Adonten SHS inducted into office

Stephen Aboagye, the new Headmaster of the Adonten Senior High School, was at the weekend inducted into office at a ceremony organized by the Wesley Methodist Church at Aburi.

He was led by the Rt Rev. Micheal Bossman, Bishop of Koforidua, to affirm his commitment to the service in which he has been appointed to undertake.

He pledged to ensure that academic work, moral education and religious training in the school would be lifted higher than the present standard, so that the teachers and students who come out of the institution would be seen as committed Christians and good citizens of the country.

He also called for God’s grace and the prayer support of the Church to strengthen him in the pursuance of his duties and a successful tenure of office. Until his new appointment, Mr Aboagye was an Assistant Headmaster of the Achiase Senior High School, Akim-Achiase, with a current rank of Deputy Director of Education.

The Bishop explained that the induction ceremony was symbolic for the church as a Mission, to officially present the newly appointed Headmaster before God and also to the Church congregation under which he serves.

In his sermon, the Rt. Rev Bossman stressed on unity and hard work as the hallmark of excellence, adding that there was no need for him to lord his position over his subordinates, but must work together as a team to achieve the needed change and improve academic performance of the students.

He also urged him to exhibit quality leadership through the demonstration of great kindness, love, and patience towards both the staff and students under him to help shape their moral lives.

The Parent/Teacher Association of the school donated a new Renault Duster four-wheel vehicle to facilitate the work of the new headmaster.
