New head of local Government service rolls out plans

The newly appointed Head of the Local Government Service, Dr. Nana Ato Arthur has outlined what he terms, a five thematic areas he intends to work with.

Addressing the press, Dr. Ato Arthur underscored the need for transparent and accountable local governance.

He said ‘’we need to strategically re-position MMDAs to be able to implement the one district-one factory program.’’

Another area he intends to work with is sharing best practices through training or sister city partnership.

The Head of the Local Government Service added another area is to use workable ICT in our assemblies to improve revenue mobilization.

So I bring on board these five thematic areas that I ask the office to support me realize this vision. I cannot do it alone, he concluded.
