New Edubiase Police arrest two pastors for public disturbances

New Edubiase (Ash), Sept 15, GNA – The police at New Edubiase in the Adansi South District have arrested two pastors for allegedly fighting over a place of worship in the town. The pastors have been granted police enquiry bail to facilitate further investigations into the case.

The New Edubiase police gave their names as Pastor Kenneth Agyabeng, Head Pastor of the Christ Truth Church based in the town and Pastor Stephen Yaw Gyamfi of Christian Soldiers Power Ministry based in Accra.

Briefing the GNA on Tuesday, Chief Inspector R.K. Anim said Pastor Agyabeng, who claimed the Headteacher of the Methodist Primary School had given him authority to worship on Sundays in the school, saw the congregation of Pastor Gyamfi worshipping at the same place on Friday night.

Pastor Agyabeng attempted to drive the congregation from the classroom and this resulted in a scuffle between the two pastors. An elderly member who attempted to separate them was pushed down and was taken to New Edubiase Hospital where he was treated and discharged.
