New Edubiase Muslims call on DCE

New Edubiase (Ash), Dec. 28, GNA – The Muslim community at New Edubiase in the Adansi South District of Ashanti has made a passionate appeal to the district assembly to assist them to complete their three-classroom block to be used as the first English/Arabic primary school in the area.

Making the appeal during a call on Mr Francis Dorpenyoh, the District Chief Executive at New Edubiase, the Muslims said the completion of the building was important, as it would pave the way for their children to embrace both secular and Arabic education. Led by Chief Osman Bawa, the New Edubiase Zongo chief and his deputy, Abdulai Baba, they congratulated Mr Dorpenyoh on his appointment and asked him to endeavour to unite the various ethnic groups in the district.

This, they pointed out would facilitate the speedy development of the district.

Receiving the delegation, the DCE commended them for their initiative in supporting government efforts at establishing more schools in the country.

He promised to take up their request with the district directorate of education and the Ashanti Regional Islamic Educational Unit to see how best they could be assisted.

Mr Dorpenyoh advised them to send their children particularly their daughters to school in view of the government’s capitation grant scheme, which give them free education at the basic level, adding that, education was the only and most important investment they could ever make in their children.

He entreated them to respect the laws of the area and live in peace and harmony with other ethnic groups in the community.
