New Chief enstooled at Achiaman

Mr Clement Martey, 32, an employee of the Amasaman District Assembly was on Saturday, enstooled as Chief of Achiaman, near Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region, under the stool name Nii Quartey Ajan.

Mr Martey succeeded Nii Achia II, who was allegedly destooled last year.

Mrs Bernice Dowuona, 40, a trader was also enstooled as Queenmother of the town under the stool name Naah Amaduwa.

Two others were also elevated as Djasetses to the stool.

They are Mr Jacob Lakai Mills, 47, Proprietor of the New Generation School in Accra, and Mr Edmund Oblitey Commey, 42, Chief Driver of the Ghana Airways Corporation.

Miss Hana Klutse, 29, a hairdresser was nominated at Asafoanye of the town.

Nii Ajan and the other stool elders swore an oath of allegiance to Nii Odartefio Mills, Seitse, Nii Shipi Daniel Amartey Aryee and the people of Achiaman.

Nii Ajan later called for peace and unity to enable them to develop the town, which is lagging in social amenities.

The Chief advised them to put an end to chieftaincy disputes and bury all political differences to enhance rapid development of the area.
