New Central Tongu market left to rot

A video which went viral on Facebook reveals a market constructed at the Central Tongu District Assembly in the Volta Region has been left abandoned and uncompleted for over five years.

In the 6 minutes video, a painter who was seen painting walls surrounding the market building said he was paid by a contractor to do so.

However, the surroundings of the abandoned market was filled with weeds.

The video also revealed that the uncompleted market was built for the residents of the area and was supposed to be occupied by traders but it has been neglected for unknown reasons.
