NEPAD school feeding block inaugurated at Darbaa

Darbaa (Ash), March 6, GNA – A 97 million-cedi block for the NEPAD School Feeding Programme at Darbaa in the Atwima-Nwabiagya District has been inaugurated.

Mr Stephen Asamoah-Boateng, the Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Environment, expressed his gratitude to the chiefs and people of Darbaa for their communal involvement in the construction of the project.

Mr Thomas Ofori-Donkor, Atwima-Nwabiagya District Chief Executive, about 7,000 pupils are being fed in some of the schools. Mr Benito Owusu Bio, the Member of Parliament for the area, appealed to the people to appreciate the government’s effort of improving their living standards and advised them to register with the National Health Insurance Scheme.

Mr Asamoah-Boateng later addressed the staff and assembly members at Nkawie, inspected a Buruli Ulcer theatre block being funded by ANSVAD of Spain, Presidential Special Initiative (PSI) on Oil-Palm at Darbaa as well as a GETFund project at the Osei Tutu Secondary School at Akropong.
