Need to handle people with weird sexual orientation judiciously

Ho, May 1, GNA – Mr Don Senyo Terry Kpodo, Executive Director of the Alliance for Human Rights and Development, a non-governmental organisation, has called on society to adopt a more discerning attitude towards people with weird sexual orientations. He said society should sympathize with people with urge for same sex partners and not demonize them.

Mr Kpodo was speaking at a workshop on 93Sexual and Reproductive Rights, Freedoms as Basic Human Rights”, sponsored by the Commonwealth Foundation, for chiefs, religious leaders and youth groups, in Ho on Friday.

He called on councillors and specialists to manage people with unusual sexual behaviours adding that since there were freaks in nature, there would be deviant sexual inclinations in some people. Mr Kpodo said society could not afford to continue ranting at people with such inclinations without scientifically tackling the issue.

Papers delivered were delivered on Sexual and Reproductive Rights, and Challenges facing Faith Leaders and Civil Society, in addressing Same Sex Marriage problems.
