Need to adequately equip Maternal Health Centres stressed

The Greater Accra Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Linda Van Otoo, says Ghana’s chances of attaining the MDG goals on maternal and infant mortality will be a mirage if maternal and child health centres are not adequately equipped.

She said lack of the right and adequate equipment in these centres hinders the proper care and services needed by pregnant women and new borns.

Dr. Van Otoo expressed these sentiments when the regional health directorate took delivery of a two-point-four million dollar medical equipment donated by USAID in Accra.
