Nduom vows to probe JJ, Kufuor, Mills gov’ts

A future Nduom government under the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) will use an independent prosecutor to probe all the past administrations of the fourth republic, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom has promised.

“If anybody has done anything, taken our money, stolen our money, messed up our assets…that individual will pay. If they will not pay in cash, they will pay with their liberty,” the founder and leader of the party said.

He said such probe will start from 1993 to cover the administrations of Jerry John Rawlings, John Kufuor, Prof John Evans Atta Mills as well as that of current President John Mahama.

Speaking at a forum organised by students of the Islamic University College in Accra, Dr Nduom added that Ghanaians have been gullible over the years and must vote for feasible ideas in this year’s polls.

“We Ghanaians have become very gullible. If somebody comes and says: ‘I am going to do a wonderful highway from Accra through Jasikan and all the way, Eastern corridor road all the way past Yendi’, then everybody claps and says: ‘This is wonderful’, then we go and vote,” he stated.

“JJ Rawlings said it, Kufour said it, Atta Mills said it, Mahama has said it. We listen to those things and we clap and dance and go and vote. Will they not keep doing it? They will. But if somebody comes and says: ‘I will build an airport in Elmina in two years,’ we say: ‘Don’t mind this man; we will vote against him.”
