Nduom: Let’s work to build nation together

Accra, Jan. 2, GNA – Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, presidential candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) in last month’s election, has called on all Ghanaians to resolve to build a great country together. “We must all work to unite our people,” he said in a New Year Message. “I pledge to do everything I can to work with other leaders in the country to do something different – bring inclusiveness into Ghanaian society so that the best people can serve the country in all areas of society.”

Dr Nduom said what most Ghanaians needed was opportunity to be the best that they could be, adding that he would work with others to promote an open, transparent nation that would attack corruption and indiscipline with a sense of urgency so that the country could build a just and caring society that is prosperous. He noted that unfortunately, ” we have entered the New Year amid great uncertainty because the winners of two Parliamentary seats and the Presidency are yet to be determined.”

Dr Nduom said of particular concern were the legal and political matters arising from the December 28 Runoff Presidential elections. “Indeed we live in very challenging times and the country’s hard-earned reputation as a beacon of hope, democracy and stability in Africa is under stress.” He asked the leadership of all political parties, particularly the NDC and the NPP together with Professor John Evans Atta Mills and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, their presidential candidates respectively, to put Ghana above their individual interests and work together for the benefit of all the people of Ghana.

“We should all remember that there is no part of the country called NPP or NDC or CPP Ghana. There is only one Ghana and whatever happens, good or bad affects all of us without regard to party affiliation,” Dr Nduom.
