NDP parliamentary candidate defects to NDC

The National Democratic Party’s parliamentary candidate for Atwima Mponua Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Bright Asiamah, has defected to the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to Mr Asiamah, who was one of the challengers to New Patriotic Party’s Isaac Kwame Asiamah, the sitting Member of Parliament, the NDP is in bed with the NPP.

He described the connivance as being done surreptitiously.

Mr Asiamah said the NDP should rather be seen as “NDPP” because of the ulterior agenda it has to help the leading opposition party to return to power.

The latest defection to the ruling party comes in the wake of several others in the same direction over the last one week.

Progressive People’s Party’s candidate for Kwabre East Constituency Grace Affram defected to the NDC, citing the good works of President John Dramani Mahama.

Some PPP executives in the Region also denounced their membership to join the NDC.

Hundreds of members of the opposition NPP also defected to the NDC over the week.
