NDC’s Salaga office burnt by angry youth

Irate supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Salaga District went on the rampage and torched the party’s office and President John Mahama’s lingering 2012 campaign billboards.

The violence was to express their displeasure over the president’s nomination of Muhammed Aminu Uthman as Chief Executive for the District.

The different irate youth groups morphed into one group and marched in some major streets of the district to express their anger at the president’s nomination.

An eyewitness, Ibrahim Baba Nawaz, told XYZ News the youth also burnt down the billboards of the Member of Parliament for the area.

The Police had to intervene to quell the mayhem. It is, however, unclear if any of the rampaging youth was arrested.
