NDC Zongo Caucus launches victory campaign 2016

The Greater Accra Regional Zongo Caucus of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has launched its campaign in preparedness towards victory 2016 for the party under the flagbearership of President John Dramani Mahama in Accra.

The launch, which brought together the caucus national executives, constituency and branch coordinators, was climaxed with the dancing to party songs to indicate their resolve of winning the election.

Alhaji Alhassan Benne, National Secretary of the Caucus said the launch would be replicated in all the regions to revive the spirits of members of the caucus.

He pledged the caucus commitment to work hard to sweep all zongo votes across the breadth and length of the country for the ruling government to retain power.

Alhaji Benne said the NDC led by President Mahama is committed to uplift the standards of Muslims in the Zongo communities through education, health and social infrastructure.

He noted that the continuous support shown to Muslims and people living in zongo communities over the years by NDC is an indication that the party has its umbilical cord tied to them.

The National Secretary said education remains the bedrock for development, and government is ensuring that basic education becomes accessible to all children in Zongo communities.

Alhaji Mohammed Ashkah, Greater Accra Regional Coordinator of the caucus said the government had reduced and stabilised inflation to a single digit for more than one year, a historic achievement in Ghana’s economy.

He said the increase in petroleum products and utility tariffs was meant to gain more revenue to further stabilise the economy for the citizens to benefit.

Alhaji Ashkah said the 2016 election is going to be crucial and so it is urgent and reasonable for the party to release all resources to enable the group work to sweep all votes in the zongo communities.

The caucus called on its members and supporters of the party to embark on an issue based campaign rather than insult based to win the heart of floating voters.
