NDC Zongo Caucus endorses President Mahama Candidature

The National Executive of the Zongo Caucus of the Ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), has endorsed the Candidature of President John Dramani Mahama to lead the Party.

A statement signed by the National Coordinator, Alhaji Yussif Captain, copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Wednesday said: “We the Zongo Caucus in the NDC have endorsed President Mahama in advance before the congress in Kumasi.”

The statement said: “President Mahama is a marketable candidate who has love and the ability to lead the NDC in the 2012 election for victory.”

It condemned Alhaji Muktar Bamba, National Organizer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), for the statement he made that Ghanaians should vote for a party which was religiously balanced in their leadership.

“ NPP is having Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, a Christian and Dr Mahamudu Baumia, a Muslim and the NDC have President Mahama, a Christian and Vice President Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur, another Christian as leaders of their party for election 2012”.

It said: “Alhaji Bamba is short of political talks and want to polarize the country with Religious issues” and that his talks should be treated by Ghanaians as a mere propaganda to destroy the religious front of the nation.
