NDC Zongo Caucus anticipates a successful voter registration exercise

The Ashanti Regional Zongo Caucus of the National Democratic congress (NDC), has expressed optimism about the on-going Biometric Voter Registration Exercise, saying it had so far been successful since it commenced on March 24.

“The Monitoring Team of the Caucus had since last Saturday gone round some of the registration centres, particularly in the Zongo communities, and we are satisfied with the turn out and conduct of the applicants.”

This was contained in a statement jointly signed by Alhaji Alhassan Ibn Ibrahim, Regional Secretary of the caucus and Alhaji Othman Yahya, Regional Coordinator.

The caucus commended the Electoral Commission for working around the clock to address the initial hitches in respect of the malfunctioning of some of the equipment which delayed the registration processes.

The statement urged members of the party to register in their numbers to enable them exercise their franchise to retain the NDC in power.

Agents of the party should also be vigilant in their work to avoid malpractices such as the registration of minors and aliens.**
