Koforidua, Sept. 28, GNA – The Atiwa District Chief Executive, Mr Samuel Atta-Twum, has said the 2012 elections would serve as a yardstick to measure the performance of the National Democratic Congress.
He expressed the hope that the NDC would win more votes including those in areas where the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is dominant. Mr Atta-Twum said this after going through the vetting process at the Eastern Regional office of the NDC in Koforidua on Wednesday. He said being at the helm of affairs in the District he possessed the qualities that are needed to represent the people in parliament. He said due to the many interventions that had brought about changes in the lives of the people, they would vote for him. Mr Atta-Twum said some of the interventions include the provision of infrastructure, construction of roads, boreholes, schools and scholarship schemes that had benefited about 85 people.
Mr Atta-Twum who expressed satisfaction at the conduct of the vetting process appealed to his opponents to conduct a clean campaign so that the image of the NDC would be sustained.
