NDC won’t give affordable houses to members – ET Mensah

The affordable housing project at Saglemi near Prampram in the greater Accra Region would not be shared among party members, the Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Mr. Enoch Teye Mensah has said.

“What happened under the previous government when it was alleged that even before the completion (of the project), the rooms had already been shared among party members and foot soldiers, will not happen under this government,” he promised.

“This affordable housing project is being done with Ghanaians in mind,” he maintained. Speaking extensively on the government’s housing project in an interview with the host of Ghana Dadwen, Bright Kwesi Asempa on Onua Fm in Accra Monday, he explained even though the prices are in dollars, payment would be in cedis.

Though he is unable to tell the exact cost of an apartment, he said those hoping to purchase any of the houses would have to make an initial payment of GHC5000 and the rest spread over a period of 30 years.

Ningo-Prampram primary

He was reluctant to comment on issues arising from his constituency following his defeat in the NDC parliamentary primary at Ningo-Prampram.

“Even though the election was not a fair one, nobody in my constituency betrayed me. I am not worried because we all have a Judas Iscariot in our lives,” he analysed. However, he failed to mention who his Judas Iscariot was.
