NDC wins in Pusiga Constituency

Bolgatanga, Dec 8, GNA – The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Pusiga Constituency won in both the Presidential and Parliamentary elections, with 9,672 votes for Presidential and 8,803 votes for Mr Simon Akumeye, a Nursing Officer and the incumbent Member of Parliament. This was confirmed by the Electoral Commission (EC). The New Patriotic Party (NPP) polled 4,609 for Presidential and 5,021 for Parliamentary, while the Convention People’s Party (CPP) polled 495 and 1469 for the Presidential and Parliamentary respectively. The People’s National Convention (PNC) polled 313 votes for Presidential and 391 for Parliamentary. The others that did not have Parliamentary Candidates include, Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) which polled 173, Independent, 113, and DPP, 66 votes in the Presidential elections. The total number of rejected ballots in the constituency came up to 16,668 for Presidential and 15,684 for Parliamentary.
