President Mahama promised that the NDC government will build a new University and a general hospital for the people of the Eastern region.

“In our manifesto we will build a government hospital for the people of Eastern Region so you can also have your own hospital than always coming to Accra for health care.

“Again if you take a look at all the regions, there are public universities courtesy Kwame Nkrumah and the NDC, but the Eastern region doesn’t have any, so we have said in our manifesto that in the next four years of the NDC government, we will build a new public university so that students don’t go through the pain of always traveling to Accra or Kumasi for tertiary education” President Mahama said”.
