It is our fervent hope that the representatives of the party during the forthcoming congress will with an overwhelming majority, support His Excellency President Mahama to lead the party to victory at the 2012 polls.
The days following the passing of President Mills have indeed been sad, painful and heart wrenching. Notwithstanding this, Ghanaians with unified grief have proudly exhibited our rich traditional cultural heritage even as we mourned. Without controversy, the NDC USA wishes to observe that, the outpouring of grief by Ghanaians both in the homeland and in the diaspora attest to the benign influence his leadership has had on his beloved country. Beyond the thousands of schools that his administration constructed, beyond the many rural communities that received electricity for the very first time, the hospitals that were built and those that received modern diagnostic technology to help bring relief to many a sick Ghanaians, beyond the two Universities whose seed have been planted and in years to come will increase Ghana’s skilled manpower; was a man who affected his country, his party, and his administration with humility and the service of God. It is our belief that Ghanaians will as a result elect John Mahama as the President of Ghana, during the 2012 polls, having in mind the good work he did together with the late President Mills.
We thank the Funeral Planning Committee for successful and befitting funeral rites. We congratulate all the political leaders in Ghana who worked together to ensure a smooth transition of power.
As a result of their collective maturity, grace and thoughtfulness Ghana continues to be recognized as a stable democracy and safe destination for foreign investment. It is our hope and prayer that in the coming months Ghanaians will return NDC to power to continue the good work of bettering the livelihood of all Ghanaians. Yema Ghanafo nyinaa ayekoo!
