Wa, Nov 28, GNA – The National Democratic Congress (NDC) said it had learnt a lot of lessons in opposition, which would help them to govern Ghanaians better if they were returned to power in the December polls.
Alhaji Mohammed Mumuni, the Running Mate to Professor John Evans Atta Mills, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate for the 2004 Elections, said on Saturday when he addressed NDC loyalists and sympathisers at Wa as part of his two-day tour of the Region.
Alhaji Mumuni accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Government of having misplaced priorities, lacking vision and ideas to govern and plans to move the country forward.
He said the NDC had a vision that it would pursue for the advancement of every Ghanaians if given the mandate to rule.
Alhaji Mumuni said the NDC when in government had extended electricity to every district capital by 1997 and planned to extend power to every community, but lost the 2000 Elections and would, therefore, continue with that agenda if returned to power.
He said the “NPP” stood for “non-performing party” and urged the electorate to reject the Party with their thumbs on December 7. On education, Alhaji Mumuni said the NDC if given the mandate would resurrect the Free Compulsory Universal Basic Education (FCUBE) and implement it more effectively than the NPP Government was doing.
“The neglect of the Region by the NPP government was not by chance but an intentional plan to punish you”, he told the people. Alhaji Mumuni visited Naa Seidu, Gulinaa; Yeri Naa Tongbeyiri among other personalities.
Mr Rashid Pelpuo NDC, Parliamentary Candidate for Wa Central appealed to the people to bring NDC back to power to bring smiles onto their faces.
