NDC to file written address Tuesday for “strategic reasons”

A member of the legal team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), in the ongoing presidential election, Mr Abraham Amaliba, has confirmed they will file their address by close of day Tuesday July 30.

He said the party has “…almost finished [work on the address] as at the weekend and so tomorrow, I can confirm to you that we will be able to file”.

He was speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show Monday.

He explained that NDC legal team has decided to file on the deadline for “strategic reasons”, because they do not want to give away their legal arguments.

Also, member of the communication team of the Petitioners, Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, told Joy News his team will meet the Tuesday deadline.

Lawyers for President John Mahama and the Electoral Commission also expect to file their addresses by Tuesday.

The Supreme Court adjourned sitting to Wednesday July 17 to enable the parties in the case to file their addresses.
