NDC Tells Paul Afoko: Stop blaming us for your woes

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has taken a swipe at the Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) who is alleging the NDC is behind the bloody incident that happened at the party headquarters on Tuesday.

Mr. Paul Afoko is alleged to have accused the ruling NDC of bringing some macho men to the party’s headquarters to cause mayhem.

But a statement issued and signed by the NDC’s National Youth Organizer, Ludwig Hlodze, said the NDC is incapable of causing trouble to score political points.

“For the records, such violent behavior is alien to the NDC and we have no time to waste on a press conference that has nothing to do with the numerous development projects currently ongoing under President Mahama’s government which is our primary objective,” the statement said.

I have just heard a news report on an Accra based radio station stating that the NPP Chairman, Paul Afoko, whose press conference was reduced to near ‘butcher house’ by thugs wielding sharp cutlasses and other deadly weapons a few moments ago at their National Headquarters, has accused the NDC of bringing in those persons.

For the records, such violent behavior is alien to the NDC and we have no time to waste on a press conference that has nothing to do with the numerous development projects currently ongoing under President Mahama’s government which is our primary objective.

We will encourage Mr. Paul Afoko and his beleaguered executive to respect the peaceful nature of our party the NDC and keep our name sacrosanct from such violence.

NDC members should treat such allegations with the contempt it deserves and continue to focus on issues that will bring development, peace and political stability to the good people of Ghana.

Signed:

Ludwig Hlodze

National Youth Organizer, NDC.
