NDC suspends five executives

The Sefwi Akontombra constituency of the ruling National Democratic Congress in the Western region has suspended five of its executives.

The five executives were suspended for breaching party regulations and rules according to the NDC constituency chairman of Sefwi Akontombra.

Constituency chairman for the NDC Moses Tetteh who confirmed the news to Starr FM’s Western regional correspondent, Emmanuel Ohene Gyan, said the suspended members were openly campaigning for the defeated incumbent Member of Parliament, Herold Cobbinah.

The suspended members include the deputy women’s organiser Agatha Ackah and other constituency executives.

The suspension comes few days after President John Dramani Mahama said he does not back any member of the NDC who goes independent in the upcoming polls.

Addressing party supporters in the North Dayi constituency of the Volta region, as part of his campaign tour on Wednesday, the President declared that, “there is no independent candidate who is NDC and I don’t support any independent candidate. I endorse only one candidate and that is the candidate who won the NDC primaries.”
